Our latest sale to South Wales sees this pair of 70 seat Dennis Javelin Plaxton Profiles head to Davies Coaches in Carmarthenshire. Age restrictions on local authority contracts means Davies Coaches require more modern school coaches and this pair of Plaxtons fit the bill perfectly. Factory built by Plaxtons as 70 seaters these coaches are fitted with 3 Point Seat Belts, a ZF fully automatic gearbox, Thermo King Air Conditioning, and have copious amounts of luggage space. The coaches were supplied by well known operator Bibby’s of Ingleton and were prepared to the standard you would expect from this operator. Thanks to the team at Bibby’s for ensuring the vehicles were in pristine condition prior to collection, and thanks to Alun Davies for his business. Hopefully these two workhorses will serve the students of Carmarthenshire for a good few years.
Returning customer P.S. Coaches found themselves with a requirement for more capacity for their school contracts in the next academic year. Following the successful purchase of 2 high capacity ex Nottingham Dennis Tridents from Weardale Motor Services, and some very disappointing visits to view other 70 seaters they approached us for a low budget 70 seat coach. We sourced them this former Stagecoach Volvo B10M Plaxton Interurban Premiere 320 from Evergreen Coaches in the West Midlands. Following careful inspection of the 5 coaches on offer Piers Skinner settled on this example to take home to Oxford. Following their recent purchase of a Mercedes Benz Vario Plaxton Cheetah 1st Choice Transport of Llanelli, South Wales have returned to us to purchase this Mercedes Benz Tourismo from Moving People of Blackburn, Lancashire. The high specification of the coach is what caught the eye of Operations Manager Andy Thornton. This coach was exhibited by Evobus at Euro Bus Expo in 2012 and it’s specification includes 49 Luxline Seats with extra padding and lateral movement, Air Conditioning, Centre Sunken WC, Boiler, Fridge, Alloy Wheels, and Central Locking. This vehicle will become 1st Choice Travel’s frontline coach and they are planning on retaining the gun metal grey paint job. When Alfreton based E Coaches found themselves in need of a 70 seater they got in touch to see if we could help. As they are a fan of the Iveco Beulas combination we sourced this 2005 example from GB Coaches of Audenshaw, Greater Manchester. It fitted the bill perfectly and the deal was done. The coach is fitted with 70 Star Seats, Thermo King Air Conditioning, an LED Destination Display, and unusually for a 70 Seater, a 6 Speed Manual Gearbox. This doesn’t phase Kieron Bacon of E Coaches as he will be mostly piloting the coach himself. Our old friend Kevin Mortlock at Keane Travel found himself with a requirement for a high capacity PSVAR compliant double decker. Based in Orsett, Essex Keane Travel predominantly provide home to school transport and they have found their numbers increasing in the past few years. We sourced this Scania N94 East Lancs Omnidekka that was originally with Nottingham City Transport but was supplied by Hilton’s Travel in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside. The bus is fitted with 89 seats and is PSVAR compliant. Kevin is seen here collecting the bus from Darren prior to the long drive back to Essex. Another recent sale has seen this 33 seat Mercedes Benz Vario 0.816d Plaxton Cheetah head off to Northern Ireland and A2B Coaches of Portadown, Co. Armagh. Kevin Hackett of A2B contacted us looking for a 33 Seater Cheetah and we sourced this 2008 example from Reay’s Coaches. It was collected by Kevin on Friday and driven up to Cairnryan for the crossing to Northern Ireland. We have recently supplied this Volvo B8R Sunsundegui SB3 to Leoline Coaches in South West London. Like many other companies Leoline have the issue of the ULEZ extension next October which means they won’t even be able to leave the yard without being compliant. This coach adds another Euro 6 compliant coach to their fleet and also adds another capacity as well. This Volvo is fitted with 72 Seats with 3 Point Seat Belts, is Air Conditioned, and is fitted with an LED Destination Display which we programmed for them prior to collection. Building on our relationship with MNE Travel we have recently supplied this West London operator with this Mercedes Benz Atego Turas 900 midicoach. This little coach is Euro 6 compliant and fitted with 33 reclining seats trimmed in half leather trim with 3 point seat belts, is fully air conditioned, and fitted with a fully automatic gearbox which will hopefully ease driving in London’s heavy traffic. Sourced from Tyrers Coaches in Chorley, Lancashire the coach is a fleet addition to help service recently gained contracts. Following on from their purchase of one of these former Nottingham City Transport High Capacity Volvo Double Deckers, Lawson’s Coaches of Corby, Northants have returned for a second. This time they have taken an 88 seat bus seated example with lapbelts. There are the last of the proper deckers, being essentially a mark IV B10M coach chassis. These vehicles tick so many boxes, being high capacity, belted, and capable of 100 kmh. At 22 years old these old girls still have plenty of life left in them. We still have one available but I doubt it’ll be around for long.
