High Capacity Sprinter for Coastal Mini Coaches

As you can see from the photograph the weather was not our friend on what was possibly the busiest day we have had at Odyssey since we began trading. 6 separate visitors to Reay’s today resulted in 3 sales all to South Wales. In this case we sold a Euro 6 Mercedes Sprinter Unvi Vega GT 22 Seater to Coastal Mini Coaches from Carmarthenshire. This little coach will allow Coastal to expand their business and offer higher capacity vehicles to it’s customers. In addition, being Euro 6 ensures Coastal is future proofing it’s business. Seen collecting the coach from Darren is Jason Gower proprietor of Coastal Mini Coaches. Thanks to him for his business and to the team at Reays for ensuring the coach was supplied in tip top condition.

On what has been an extremely wet but busy Wednesday, the first vehicle to head off to South West Wales today was this 33 Seat Air Conditioned Plaxton Cheetah bodied Mercedes Vario. Following on from it’s previous owners Golden Boy and Reays this very well cared for midicoach is off to 1st Choice Transport in Llanelli, South Wales. Seen collecting the coach from Darren is Mark Heyel prior to sticking his ear plugs in for the 7 hour drive home. Thanks to Alun, Andrew and the team at 1st Choice for their purchase and to the team at reays for ensuring the vehicle was presented in the condition we have come to expect from this operator.

The first large coach for Kirk’s Minicoaches of Bedworth in Warwickshire is this beautifully presented Iveco Eurorider Beulas Stergo E 53 Seater from Leoline Coaches in South West London. Trevor Noon, proprietor of Kirk’s Minicoaches has found himself getting more and more enquiries for larger coaches so decided to take the plunge. He liked the look of this Iveco Beulas and following an inspection and test drive at Leoline’s premises close to Kempton Park Racecourse struck a deal and collected the coach on Thursday. As with all the fleet at Leoline, this 14 year old coach was pristinely presented and will hopefully serve Trevor and his team at Kirk’s well for a good few years to come. Congratulations to Trevor on his recent purchase and the best of luck with his first full size coach. Also, thanks to Amy, Melanie and the lads at Leoline for ensuring the [...]

A recent sale has been this Volvo B12M Jonckheere Mistral 50 to Yelloway Coaches Ltd. I waited until it was repainted into this attractive blue livery for dedicated use on one of Yelloway’s local college contracts. It has a brand new 70 seat conversion carried out at Express Coach Repairs in Pickering prior to sale by Hilton’s Coaches. The coach is fitted with Thermo King Air Conditioning and has the advantage of a ZF Fully Automatic Gearbox and huge luggage space as expected on a Volvo B12M. The excellent repaint was carried out by Lawton Motor Bodies and pictured here with Darren following repaint is Mark Brook, Managing Director of Yelloway.

Today we delivered this Irizar i6 bodied Scania K360 to Blackpool Coach Services on behalf of Hebridean Transport. Prior to collection it is under going a complete interior re-trim and exterior repaint before it starts it’s new life on the Isle of Lewis. The coach was supplied by Carver’s Coaches of Ellesmere Port, Cheshire and is fully PSVAR compliant with a magic floor wheelchair lift. Once it arrives in Stornoway it will join one of it’s sisters and will be used on a variety of work including shore excursions for the numerous cruise ships that visit the Island where it’s wheelchair accessibility will be appreciated. Thanks to Ian Maciver and his team at Hebridean Transport for their business, and to Mark and the guys at Carver’s for ensuring that the coach was in A1 condition before I collected her.

As we’re approaching the end of the academic year sales are starting to pick up again. Our latest sale is of this 70 seat Scania K94 Irizar Intercentury from the Yelloway fleet to J.B. Tours (Watnall) Ltd. This sale has been a little protracted as the vehicle developed an electrical fault just prior to being collected but Mark Brook at Yelloway is always insistent that should his vehicles develop a fault prior to sale it is rectified before collection. This coach replaces an ex M.o.D Wadham Stringer bodied vehicle which has come to the end of it’s life and will be working hard carrying school groups around Nottinghamshire from September onwards. Pictured collecting the coach from Darren is Gary Payne joint proprietor of J.B. Tours and below is a copy of a text we received from him last night.

Hi Darren. Just want to thank you for everything [...]

You may recall that earlier in the year we sold a MAN powered ADL Enviro 200 out of the now defunct Express Motors fleet to Go Goodwins of Eccles, Manchester. Well here she is in her new guise as a Little Gem operating tendered services on behalf of Transport for Greater Manchester. This livery will certainly bring back memories for Mancunians as Little Gem was the name given to the post deregulation minibus services of GM Buses using a mixture of Iveco, Dodge, and MCW Metrorider minibuses. Wes and his team have even added finer details such as 19xx series fleet numbers (GM Buses numbered it’s Dodge S56s in the 18xx and 19xx series), and adding EC depot codes for Eccles. Personally I think this looks fantastic and gives those of us brought up with orange buses an incling of what might have been, and if Mr Burnham [...]
