Tri-Axle Setra helps Yogi Travel become Smarter than the Average Coach Company

Following the purchase of a Volvo B9R Caetano Levante in September last year, Yogi Travel of Wenbley have returned to Odyssey Coach Sales for their next fleet addition. This time they wanted a vehicle to make a statement and be their shop window so have chosen this 2010 Setra S416 GT-HD from Travel Master in Trafford, Manchester. Originally a Shearings vehicle this Setra is fitted with 52 Nimbus Seats, Wood Effect Flooring, and Air Conditioning. It is powered by a Mercedes Benz Bluetec 5 engine driven through an 8 Speed Powershift Gearbox. It is hoped that this stunning coach will help Yogi Travel increase their profile and become a bigger player on the London Coach scene. Thanks to Hiren Patel, director of Yogi Transport for his continued business, to Zak and his team at Travel Master for preparing the coach for sale, and to Blair Michie and his team [...]

Yesterday we handed over this Volvo B12B Caetano Enigma to Dalma Express Ltd of Senangra in Zambia. Following an initial viewing at Skills Coaches in Nottingham, we set to work on getting the vehicle to the specification required for the customer. This included a full bottom half repaint, fitting of a second DVD monitor, and a full engine and gearbox service. Once completed the coach was delivered by Darren to Immingham Docks where it will set sail for Walvis Bay in Namibia. Seen with Darren prior to departing from Skills is Dr David Lubinda Mbundi, Dalma Express’s representative in the UK. Thanks to him and Dalma for their business, and to Nigel, Pete, Steve and the team at Skills for preparing the coach prior to collection.

We recently reported the sale of a Temsa HD12 Safari from Jones Executive Coaches in Walkden, Manchester to Tours Isle of Man. Well, today Simon Jones collected it’s replacement………………a Temsa HD12 Safari! This 2011 example has had two good homes being supplied by Yelloway Coaches Ltd just up the road in Chadderton, Oldham, and was new to Atkinson’s in North Yorkshire. In fact this is the second time I’ve sold this coach as I sold it to Yelloway two years ago. The attraction of the Temsa for both Yelloway and Jones is that it’s such a versatile vehicle being 12.2m with 53 seats and a toilet. It’s got the trusted DAF PR Engine driven through a ZF Automatic Gearbox, and it’s of stainless steel construction. It’s just a jack of all trades! Seen with Darren collecting the coach from Yelloways premises is Simon Jones, Managing Director of Jones [...]

Today we had the pleasure of handing over this ex Nottingham City Transport Volvo Olympian to Barway Services Ltd of Ely, Cambs. Barway supply transport for the many fruit and veg pickers employed by GS Growers Ltd, one of the largest fruit and veg suppliers in the East of England. The requirement for a high capacity seat belted decker with decent ground clearance due to the rough terrain it will operate over was met by this East Lancs bodied Olympian from Skills Group. Lawton Motor Bodies repainted the bus out of Skills yellow into the blue livery of Barway Ltd. Darren is pictured here handing the bus over to Jaroslav Hamouz, Operations Manager of GS Growers Ltd / Barway Ltd prior to the journey over to Cambridgeshire.

During my time at Arriva Bus & Coach I sold a 2008 Temsa HD12 Safari to Tours Isle of Man Ltd. David Midghall, Director of Tours IOM was so pleased with it that when the time came to upgrade the obvious choice was another Safari. We happened to have a couple of identical vehicles for sale on behalf of Jones Executive in Walkden, Manchester so as we had previously dealt with each other David got in touch and flew over to Manchester to ensure that the coach would meet the strict re-certification requirements on the Island, particularly with regard to corrosion. The Temsa passed the test and a deal was struck. Simon Jones kindly agreed to deliver the coach to Heysham Ferry Terminal and here we see Jonas from Jones Executive handing the new purchase over to Kevin from Tours IOM prior to boarding the ferry back to [...]

We have recently sold this very special double decker to Lawson’s Coaches in Corby, Northants. It’s special for a number of reasons. Personally, I don’t think you’ll find a better decker. It’s a Volvo D10M Citybus on a mark IV chassis. Not many of those were built. It’ll sit comfortably on the motorway at 100 kmh. It has 87 high back seats with 3 point belts. It is also special to me as I bought this and it’s sister out of Nottingham City Transport in 2007 and converted them to the current seat layout. When Focus ceased trading they were bought by Redline Travel in Preston to join the other 3 in the batch that remain bus seated and they have served the scholars of Preston and South Ribble for the last 12 years. Eventually vehicles need renewing so it had to go to make way for younger [...]
